Services for Children

We help newcomer children through various ways.  We provide initial and ongoing support to parents relating to their childrens' needs, whether those needs are health, education, recreation...or any other aspects of their lives.  We also provide special programming for children, by means of friendship groups, learning circles, recreational activities, leadership building and preparation for school.

School Friendship Program In Local Schools:

The schoold friendship program runs at various schools in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.  The program matches newcomer children with volunteer children within local schools.  The children meet together during lunchtime at the Host Frineds club.  The participating students (both newcomers and volunteers) learn about anti-racism, cultural awareness, cross cultural communications, diversity and acceptance, all while making a new friend.
